I am a Newcastle/London-based filmmaker with a documentary focused practice. My projects are embedded deeply in my local community and revolve around alternative nightlife scenes, underground culture and the battle between capitalism and creativity. Audio forms a large part of my practice, including music and sound production for soundtracks and exhibitions.
Employment
Filmmaker at Kaleidoscope Creative Films Agency (May 2021 - January 2024) Responsible for working in a team and taking on all filmmaking elements (pre-production, directing, camera operating, sound recording, interviewing, editing) to deliver high quality video to a multitude of clients. Responsible for writing successful proposals in response to briefs. Currently leading the company’s creative outlet through the making of my documentary project, on the Newcastle-based music venue, Cobalt.
Teaching at Newcastle University Fine Art Department (February 2023 - Current) Leading a documentary and narrative film strand to second year students, teaching both theoretical documentary knowledge and practice-based skills to help them realise their own film projects.
Sole videographer for Newcastle based tech company (January 2021- May 2021) Part-time work creating video content for tech company Senserve, alongside my degree.
Newcastle University Internship Scheme : Video Editor at Senserve (September – December 2020) Paid internship with the tech company Senserve, involving planning, shooting and editing video content.
Star & Shadow Cinema (September 2017 - May 2021) - I was a committed part of the programming team at the volunteer-led co-op, organising a range of arts-based events from screenings, to exhibitions, to gigs and club nights.
